This is the basic training level for EMT's and is the foundation needed to begin further training. EMT's are trained to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), bandage wounds, control bleeding, deliver babies, treat allergic reactions, apply splints and assist patients with breathing difficulties. Basic EMT’s work in our Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances, which operate under the brand name of NorthEast Medical Transportation. They are also eligible to work on our Wheelchair Vans. These positions provide an excellent opportunity for entry level people to learn about our system, understand how we treat our patients, sharpen their customer service skills and get the advanced training that they need for promotional opportunities.

This training level can perform all of the duties of a Basic EMT along with intravenous fluid therapy, some medication administration and endotacheal intubation.. EMT-I' are trained to establish IV's and administer fluids. They are also more highly trained in physical assessment skills. EMT-I is typically the next step towards Paramedic. EMT-Intermediates are typically paired with a Paramedic and staff our ALS ambulances. |

| This is the highest level of EMT certification available. Personnel who have successfully completed this training level can perform all of the duties of an EMT-I and are trained in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) skills. They can administer numerous medications, provide advanced airway support, defibrillate and interpret EKG readings. Completion of this level of training is usually at least an 18-month commitment to intense schooling. | |

Communications Center Personnel |

| Our call takers and dispatchers are highly motivated and trained individuals who deal directly with our clients over the phone. They are trained and APCO certified in emergency medical dispatching procedures and responsible for the coordination and staging operations of our fleet of vehicles and personnel. | |
