Rockingham Ambulance Applies for CAAS Accreditation
February 2, 2000 - Our accreditation application package is finally nearing completion!! After 2 long years and countless hours of work by many people, we are nearing the home stretch.
On Monday February 7, 2000 we are planning to ship the application package (all 6 large boxes!) to the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Service (CAAS) headquarters in Glenview, Illinois. We are anticipating our on-site visit from the CAAS examination team sometime in April or May.
Over the next few week's Sarah McEntee's (Accreditation Coordinator) primary focus will shift from application preparation to site visit preparation. She will begin the process of educating the staff about the upcoming CAAS site team visit and what you can expect them to ask and want to see while they are here. Our goal of becoming a CAAS accredited service is a lofty one. Currently there are less than 100 EMS agencies nationwide that have been able to attain this status. We will clearly demonstrate our clinical superiority and professionalism by attaining this goal.
