New Hampshire Governor Shaheen and Executive Council Honor
Rockingham Ambulance Employees for Daring Rescue

March 7, 2000 - Eight Rockingham Regional Ambulance employees and Manchester firefighters were honored by New Hampshire Governor Jeanne Shaheen and the Governor's Executive Council. The Rockingham Ambulance employees - Chris Bachand, Steve Bateman, Rebecca Coltey, David East, Chris Gaudreault, Mike Hall, Joel Minsky and Tom Russell - were honored for rescuing and resuscitating three critically injured Manchester fire victims on January 19, 2000.
"This was a very difficult rescue and extremely challenging scene that occurred in one of Manchester's most populated sections," said Chris Stawasz, Executive Director of Rockingham Regional Ambulance. "Both the firefighters and our employees performed exceptionally, resulting in no loss of life."
Rockingham Regional Ambulance is New Hampshire's largest 9-1-1 provider, and one of the top five providers in New England. The ambulance company provides emergency medical services for the cities of Nashua and Manchester. Each year Rockingham Regional Ambulance employees answer more than 30,000 calls that range from 9-1-1 emergencies to routine medical transportation. The company's main headquarters are located at 380 West Hollis Street in Nashua. Rockingham Regional Ambulance is a member of St. Joseph Healthcare.
