Paramedics receive Manchester Union Leader Hero Awards
March 15, 2000 - I am pleased to announce that Paramedic Steve Willette and Paramedic Jim Farley have been selected to receive Hero Awards at the Manchester Union Leader's annual Hero Awards Dinner.
Steve and Jim were first on the scene of a high speed motor vehicle crash on the Everett Turnpike in Nashua on July 16, 1999. They pulled a patient from a burning vehicle without regard for their own safety. After they rescued their patient they treated him for critical injuries. It was made clear from several bystanders that this patient would not have survived if Steve & Jim had not pulled him out of the burning car as they did.
This is the very first time that a Rockingham employee has been selected to receive this award. We should all be proud of the effort put forth by Steve & Jim. Many similar efforts by all of you go unnoticed everyday & deserve similar recognition as well.
The awards dinner is being held at the CR Sparks Event Center in Bedford on April 18, 2000. A reception begins at 5:00 with dinner at 6:00. If you would like to attend to help honor Steve & Jim tickets are $25 each and are available by calling the Union Leader Promotions Department at 1-800-562-8218 x 506. You must reserve a seat by 4/14.
Please join me in congratulating Steve & Jim!
