April 20, 2001 - The Manchester Union Leader and NH Sunday News recently awarded a Unit Citation Hero Award to Rockingham Ambulance's A shift in Manchester. At a dinner ceremony on April 19, 2001 in Bedford, NH, more than 40 NH Heroes were honored. Very early one cold January 2000 morning on Merrimack Street in Manchester, Rockingham Ambulance's A shift was called upon to assist in the rescue of three critical fire victims. Working as a team with the Manchester Fire Department, all of the victims were pulled from the building by firefighters and then successfully resuscitated by Rockingham personnel. The victims all were suffering from life threatening conditions and all needed immediate ALS intervention. Through the quick actions of many that day, all of the victims survived the ordeal. |
