Rockingham Employees Recognized as "National Stars of Life"

October 4, 2001 - With a theme of "America's Ambulance Professionals Are Your Healthcare Safety Net - We're Always There When You Need Us", the American Ambulance Association paid tribute on May 8, 2001 to 109 "Stars of Life" at a special gala dinner in Washington, DC. This was the highest number of Stars ever for this event, which is in its ninth year. The 109 Stars included EMT's, paramedics, dispatchers and other ambulance service personnel from 34 states, including Hawaii, who were recognized by their peers for their heroic life saving actions, dedication to the communities they serve, and long term commitment to the ambulance industry.

This year, Rockingham Ambulance employees Paramedic Deb McCartney and Paramedic Dwayne Hogencamp were honored for their long term service and dedication to patient care. Deb & Dwayne were chosen by their co-workers as this year's representatives to the Stars of Life event.

While in Washington, DC for the event, Deb & Dwayne met with and were congratulated by US Senator's Judd Gregg and Bob Smith along with US Representative's Charlie Bass and John Sununu. They also were treated to an evening tour of the West Wing of the White House.
