Rockingham Regional Ambulance, Inc. awarded grant under the Domestic Preparedness Equipment Program

December 6, 2002- The State of NH Attorney General's Office and the NH Anti-Terrorism Task Force recently awarded Rockingham Regional Ambulance, Inc. a grant to purchase personal protective equipment in the form of full face air purifying respirators and chemical splash suits. The funds for this grant were made available by the Federal government for New Hampshire's emergency services under the Domestic Preparedness Equipment program authorized by Congress and President Bush.

The purchase of this equipment will allow Rockingham's medics to more efficiently operate with local Hazmat teams and provide better protection for emergency personnel as they respond to potential chemical and/or biological incidents in the area. The equipment will be placed on all Rockingham ambulances and Rockingham medics will be trained in proper techniques for effective use of the equipment.

Rockingham Regional Ambulance, Inc. is New Hampshire's largest 9-1-1 ambulance provider and provides paramedic level emergency medical transportation services to the cities of Nashua and Manchester along with the Town of Candia. Rockingham employs over 100 medics and has a fleet of 24 vehicles.

Rockingham also provides advanced life support medical transportation services to hospitals and medical facilities throughout southern New Hampshire and is New England's only Nationally Accredited private ambulance service.
