Rockingham Regional Ambulance, Inc. earns national re-accreditation from Commission on Accredidation of Ambulance Services.

October 10, 2003 - NASHUA, NH - Rockingham Regional Ambulance Inc., New Hampshire’s largest advanced life support provider, has been awarded a three-year re-accreditation by the Commission on the Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS).

This re-accreditation certification follows an initial three-year accreditation that Rockingham Ambulance received in 2000. Rockingham Ambulance is one of less than only 100 ambulance service providers nationwide to successfully meet the rigorous CAAS standards, and regionally, remains the only private ambulance service in New England to achieve this high standard.

The accreditation process includes a comprehensive self-assessment, an independent outside review plus an on-site team evaluation of the EMS organization. The on-site survey involves a review of clinical data, patient surveys, transport and response times, business practices and adherence to protocols and procedures.

“Accreditation signifies that Rockingham Ambulance has met the ‘gold standard’ determined by the ambulance industry, which exceed those established by state or local regulations,” said Chris Stawasz, Executive Director of Rockingham Ambulance. “This independent process provides verification to the citizens and medical community served by Rockingham Ambulance that our professionals provide the highest quality of care.”

The Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) was established to encourage and promote quality patient care in America's ambulance service providers. Based initially on the efforts of the American Ambulance Association, the independent Commission established a comprehensive series of standards for the ambulance service industry.
