Rockingham Ambulance Adds Specialized Bariatric Cot to its Fleet

February 26, 2006 - Rockingham Ambulance recently added New Hampshire’s first hydraulic bariatric cot and mattress to its ever expanding list of specialized capabilities. 

The Ferno Washington PowerFlexx bariatric cot and large body surface mattress provides a safer system of transportation for bariatric patients. Medics utilize a specialized hydraulic lift mechanism that literally lifts the patient into and out of the ambulance with the push of a button.  The cot has a 700 pound safe lift capacity.

“We’ve responded to the needs and requests of our customers for this specialized system.  It not only makes it safer for our employees, it also provides a much more comfortable transport environment for the patients who need this type of service”, commented Chris Stawasz, Executive Director of Rockingham Ambulance.

The cot is currently in-service and available for transportation requests.
