Rockingham Ambulance Crews "Adopt-an-Island" in Nashua

1999 - Nashua Mayor Don Davidson recently introduced a new citywide beautification program that allows local businesses to "adopt" a traffic island close to them for the summer months. The adopter is responsible for beautifying the area, maintaining the shrubs, flowers and other planted items and keeping the area clean. Rockingham Ambulance has adopted the traffic island just to the east of our Nashua station. Crews will be planting flowers & shrubs soon!

January 25, 2000 - Rockingham Ambulance crews "adopted" a traffic island in 1999 at the corner of Simon Street & West Hollis Street in Nashua. With the assistance of several locals businesses and the Nashua Police Athletic League, the once deserted traffic island has been transformed into a beautifully landscaped area. A granite stone was place on the island dedicating it to those who serve the City of Nashua. Nearly 1,000 flower bulbs were planted this fall and are expected to brighten the island this spring.
