The Paramedic Scholarship Fund
The Paramedic scholarship fund was created in memory of a young man whose career as a Rockingham Ambulance Paramedic was tragically cut short.
In June 1990, the emergency medical field lost a gifted and caring individual - David Tuner's life ended in an automobile crash.
David's friends, colleagues and family have established a scholarship fund in memory of this dedicated and talented young man. The purpose of the fund is to support students pursuing emergency medical training with a preference for those enrolled in the Paramedic program at the New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, NH.
David will be remembered through a permanently endowed fund administered by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. Students receiving this award will carry into the future the dedication to emergency medical care demonstrated by David Turner.
A committee made up of representatives from the emergency medical services community, the NH Technical Institute and the Turner family will select two students annually to receive awards. Once student will based on merit and one based solely on financial need.

Who was David Turner?
David Turner was born in 1959 to Harry and Barbara Turner, long time residents of Milford, NH. David graduated from Milford High School in 1977, having achieved the award for outstanding student in health care occupations. Following high school, David went to work at the Milford Nursing Home at the same time taking night courses to become an Emergency Medical Technician.
Over the next ten years David continued his interest in emergency care. He volunteered for the Milford Ambulance Service where he became the first full time attendant. He also worked for Stat-Care Ambulance in Manchester, NH, Chaulk Ambulance Service in Natick, MA and at the time of his death for Rockingham Ambulance in Nashua, NH. During this time David continued his studies. In 1988 he graduated from the New Hampshire Technical Institute's first evening paramedic program. He last job was serving in the role of Paramedic in Nashua, NH.
